College, Career, and Military Readiness

The mission of the Rapoport Academy Career & Technical Education Department is to empower every student with the knowledge, skills, and experiences necessary to identify, pursue, and achieve meaningful postsecondary goals. Through intentional learning opportunities, career exploration, and personalized guidance, we prepare students for success in college, the workforce, military service, and lifelong learning.

Vision

Rapoport Academy envisions a school system where every student is equipped with the resources, support, and experiences needed to confidently navigate their postsecondary pathway. Through individualized instruction, authentic learning experiences, and strategic partnerships, we foster informed decision-making and inspire students to achieve their educational and career aspirations.

Our Values

  • Expand and strengthen partnerships with business, industry, higher education, and community organizations to enhance student opportunities.
  • Ensure equitable access to rigorous academic and Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs for all students.
  • Introduce and reinforce the College, Career, and Military Readiness mission and vision beginning in the elementary grades to build early awareness and aspiration.
  • Provide authentic, work-based learning experiences through internships, practicums, apprenticeships, and career exploration opportunities.
  • Develop systematic processes to support and monitor students throughout the postsecondary planning and application process.
  • Align students' aptitudes, interests, career goals, and postsecondary aspirations with meaningful internship and practicum opportunities that promote career readiness.

CCMR Indicators

College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) measures graduates' preparedness for college, the workforce, or the military.  

Rapoport Academy strives to ensure that all our graduates attain at least one CCMR indicator before graduation. Texas Education Agency (TEA) has defined the below set of CCMR indicators that may be earned to be considered college, career, or military ready.

    • Meet Texas Success Initiative (TSI) in Reading/Language Arts and Mathematics in any combination of the following measures:
      •  Meet SAT college ready criteria (480+ EBRW; 530+ Math).
      • Meet ACT college ready criteria (40+ combined score on English + Reading; 22+ Math) (as of February 2023).
      • Meet TSIA2 college ready criteria (945+ ELA & 5 or higher on essay; 950+ Math).
      • Successfully complete a college prep course, such as Texas College Bridge.
    • Earn Dual Course credits through any of the below means:
      • Successfully complete at least 3 college credit hours in an English or Math course.
      • Successfully earn at least 9 credit hours in any dual credit courses.
    • Meet criteria on Advanced Placement (AP) exam of 3+
    • Earn an Associate's Degree
    • Earn an Industry Based Certificate (IBC) and:
      • Earn at least 4+ credits in 3+ courses within your Program of Study (Class of 2026 and beyond).
    • Graduate with a completed Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and determined to be workforce ready by ARD committee
    • Enlist in the Armed Forces or Texas National Guard
    • Graduate under the Foundation High School Plan with an Endorsement (FHSP-E) or the Foundation High School Plan with a Distinguished Level of Achievement (FHSP-DLA) AND be currently identified as a special education student
    • Earn a Level I or Level II certificate in any workforce education area
