Coach Mac
Head Girls Basketball Coach
McKamie Place (Coach Mac), is Rapoport Academy’s Head Girls Basketball Coach for the high school varsity and middle school teams.
Coach Mac completed her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at Southwestern University while playing Division III Basketball. Her dream of coaching basketball led her to obtain her Master’s degree in Kinesiology Sport & Human Performance at Sam Houston State University. She coached basketball at the collegiate level for seven years, where she was also an academic advisor, strength & conditioning coach, and Kinesiology instructor.
Coaching and teaching have always been a huge part of her life and she loves mentoring young people to be the best version of themselves on and off the court. Coach Mac instills in her athletes to always be on time, stay disciplined, and be a good person. “Winning takes talent, to repeat takes character.”
Coach Mac started her career here at Rapoport in 2023. She led the team that year to their first ever playoff game in school history. Her main goals are to win as many games as possible, form lasting relationships with each athlete she coaches, and see every one of her student-athletes cross that stage at graduation. Her love and dedication to coaching have led her all over the U.S., even though she is a Gatesville, Texas native. Coach Mac is married to Lauren Place, and they have two children, Bristol and Rosy.
