Meet Our Coaches

    Assistant Boys Soccer Coach

    Ami Andrade is a dedicated Assistant Soccer Coach and the College and Career Counselor with a passion for student development both on the field and in the classroom. A graduate of Tarleton State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Mrs. Andrade went on to earn a Master’s in Higher Education from Angelo State University.


    With over 13 years of experience in higher education and 7 years in the PK–12 setting, Mrs. Andrade brings a unique and well-rounded perspective to student support and college career readiness. Her deep understanding of the educational landscape allows her to guide students through academic and athletic pathways with confidence and care.


    As a soccer coach, Mrs. Andrade brings over 10 years of youth recreational soccer development experience and is committed to fostering teamwork, discipline, and personal growth. As a college and career counselor, she is equally dedicated to helping students navigate the complexities of college admissions, financial aid, and career planning.

    Head Boys Soccer Coach

    Juan Andrade is a Mexico native and graduated from University High School. He is married to his high school sweetheart and has 4 beautiful and successful daughters.  

    Coach Andrade comes with a wealth of supervisory experience from his 21 years at Packaging Corporation of America. On the soccer pitch, Coach Andrade has over 15 years of Coaching Competitive experience. He has served as a mentor and coach to numerous players ranging from 10-year-old to 18-year-old. Many of whom have graduated and are playing college ball.

    Coach Andrade joined Rapoport in August of 2024. He is currently a Teacher Assistant for both Middle and High School. He is the Varsity, JV, Middle School Soccer Head Coach. Outside of school, he is a Competitive Soccer Coach for Dallas Waco Texans.

    Coach Andrade's favorite thing to do outside of work is being with family and going on family trips out of the country.

    Head Girls Soccer Coach

    Audrey-Irene (Aimee) Baack is a native Texan having lived in the Panhandle, the Big Country, and Central Texas all her life. She graduated from Caprock High School and committed to playing soccer at Hardin Simmons University, making it as far as the round of sixteen in the NCAA tournament before hanging up her cleats. After two years at HSU, she transferred to West Texas A&M and earned her Bachelor of Science in Biology.

    Coach Baack has been working at Rapoport for over ten years now, starting as a teacher’s assistant for pre-K before obtaining her certification and teaching kindergarten since 2018. When Rapoport approached her about possibly commuting from the elementary campus to the high school to help start the soccer program, she jumped at the opportunity and now coaches the varsity and middle school girls’ soccer teams.

    Coach Baack is quite happy teaching her kindergarteners and coaching the girls. She heads up a Rapoport family, with her oldest son having recently graduated from Meyer and her younger two following in his footsteps. She plans to continue working and growing at Rapoport, with the aim of getting her daughter and youngest son through RAPS and off to college.

    Assistant Girls Basketball & MS Volleyball Coach

    Christina Charles serves Rapoport Academy as an Assistant Coach and PE Teacher, bringing a diverse background in education and athletics to her current roles.

    She earned her Bachelor's degree in Recreational Sports from Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Arkansas. Her educational career began in 2015 as a teaching assistant at Quinn Middle School. She then taught 7th and 8th-grade math for a number of years, demonstrating a long-term commitment to middle school students.

    Coach Charles began coaching basketball in 2021. Before joining Rapoport, she taught 6th-grade math and coached multiple sports at Midway Middle School, including middle school volleyball, basketball, and track.

    She now dedicates her coaching expertise to Rapoport, where she currently serves as:

    • Assistant Coach for High School and Middle School Basketball
    • Assistant Coach for Middle School Volleyball

    Outside of coaching and teaching, Coach Charles maintains an active lifestyle. She enjoys working out, running, and traveling, and spending quality time with her family.

    Assistant Boys Basketball & MS Volleyball Coach

    Jerry Dancer brings a blend of professional playing experience and dedicated educational service to Rapoport. A proud graduate of Waco High School, Coach Dancer played collegiately at Richland Junior College and Concordia University Texas (formerly Austin Concordia).

    Following his education, he spent 8 years teaching at South Waco Elementary School, demonstrating a long-term commitment to developing young people in the Waco community. His passion for the game led him to play professionally in both the ABA and NBL US.

    Joining Rapoport in November 2024, he is actively working toward his long-term goal of becoming a high school Head Coach and ultimately joining an NBA coaching staff.

    Athletic Director & Head Track and Cross Country Coach

    Born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia, Bryan Foreman is an Army veteran and a dedicated leader in youth athletics. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Sports Management and an MBA from Southern New Hampshire University. After completing his military service, Bryan joined Rapoport Academy in 2013 as a teaching assistant and quickly began making a lasting impact on the school community.

    Over the years, he has served in multiple roles, including Teaching Assistant, College Liaison, PE Teacher, and Assistant Athletic Director, before stepping into the role of Athletic Director, a position he has held for the past four years.

    Under his leadership, the Rapoport Academy Athletic Department has experienced unprecedented growth and success, culminating in an exceptional 2024-25 school year in which the Ravens captured four UIL State Championships. Bryan’s vision, work ethic, and commitment to student-athletes have transformed the athletic program into something many once thought impossible.

    Head Girls Basketball Coach 

    McKamie Place (Coach Mac), is Rapoport Academy’s Head Girls Basketball Coach for the high school varsity and middle school teams.

    Coach Mac completed her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at Southwestern University while playing Division III Basketball. Her dream of coaching basketball led her to obtain her Master’s degree in Kinesiology Sport & Human Performance at Sam Houston State University. She coached basketball at the collegiate level for seven years, where she was also an academic advisor, strength & conditioning coach, and Kinesiology instructor.

    Coaching and teaching have always been a huge part of her life and she loves mentoring young people to be the best version of themselves on and off the court. Coach Mac instills in her athletes to always be on time, stay disciplined, and be a good person. “Winning takes talent, to repeat takes character.”

    Coach Mac started her career here at Rapoport in 2023. She led the team that year to their first ever playoff game in school history. Her main goals are to win as many games as possible, form lasting relationships with each athlete she coaches, and see every one of her student-athletes cross that stage at graduation. Her love and dedication to coaching have led her all over the U.S., even though she is a Gatesville, Texas native. Coach Mac is married to Lauren Place, and they have two children, Bristol and Rosy.

    Head Volleyball Coach 

    Coach Meriwether is the Head Coach of the volleyball team, bringing a dedicated focus on athlete development. This year marks an exciting new chapter, with the team utilizing Raven Court for practice and competition.

    Coach Meriwether’s coaching philosophy centers on two key concepts: continuous improvement and high-level skill integration. She designs practices to mirror the speed and intensity of competitive play, ensuring athletes are constantly refining their abilities in game-like scenarios.

    In addition to her coaching duties, Ms. Meriwether is the high school’s College Student Coordinator. She is committed to guiding RAPS students through the complexities of their dual credit courses, helping them achieve academic success and earn college credit early.

    Coach Meriwether welcomes students to her classroom in the Gomez building to discuss future volleyball opportunities or inquire about signing up for next semester's dual credit courses.

    Head Boys Basketball Coach 

    Turmaine "Tru" Rice serves as the Head Boys Basketball Coach at Rapoport Academy, bringing an unwavering commitment to faith, family, and education to his role as an educator, coach, and mentor. He accepted the head coaching position in 2021, leveraging a lifelong passion for basketball to develop young people both on and off the court.

    Coach Rice's leadership reached a pinnacle in the 2024-2025 season, where he and Coach Dancer guided the Rapoport program to its first-ever UIL Division 1 State Championship. His success was recognized with the Super Centex Coach of the Year award. Coach Rice lives in Waco with his wife, Alma, and their three children, instilling the principles of faith and family—the foundation of his own success—in his student-athletes.
