Mrs. Ariel Basden is joining the Rapoport Academy Secondary team as a 5th Grade English Language Arts teacher.

Mrs. Basden was born in Waco, TX, and was mostly raised in Groesbeck, Texas. During her high school years, Mrs. Basden’s family moved up to Arkansas where she later graduated from Christian Ministries Academy.

After high school, she received her Associate of Arts and her CNA certification. She then moved back to Texas as a young adult. At 21, she joined the United States Air Force and served from 2011-2017. Her military career included achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant and an overseas deployment to Al Udeid Air Base, Qatar.

She then attended Tarleton State University and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and worked as a case manager for social services for 3 years. Mrs. Basden has been married for 10 years to her husband Elijah and they have 2 children, Brantley (9) and Oakley (2). As a student, Mrs. Basden excelled in English and is looking forward to imparting her passion and love for the subject to her students. When she is not working, she enjoys traveling, exercising, reading, hiking, and spending time outdoors.
