Representatives from Rapoport Academy and Lowe's Home Improvement marked the completion of the Lowe's Hometowns Grant with a ribbon-cutting ceremony today. The event was co-hosted by the Cen-Tex Hispanic Chamber of Commerce and the Cen-Tex African American Chamber of Commerce to celebrate the inauguration of a new outdoor classroom space on the Rapoport secondary campus, along with a new student-run food truck business incubator called Hatch.

The grant, totaling more than $100,000 from Lowe's, also provided an upgraded space for Rapoport's engineering students to use alongside their fabrication lab, effectively doubling the usable classroom space. Representatives from the Magnolia Foundation also spoke at the event and generously donated delicious Silo Bakery chocolate chip cookies to serve. The Magnolia Foundation played a crucial role in identifying the grant for Rapoport and supported the school's grant application.

"Without Lowe's, none of this would have been possible. They came in and helped us dream and troubleshoot in ways we never could've imagined. This grant will enhance learning for all students at our 5th through 12th-grade campus. We are immensely grateful," said Dr. Alexis Neumann.
