With the safety of our students and staff as our top priority, Rapoport Academy Public School will be closed on Monday, April 8, due to the impact of the total solar eclipse. This decision is due to several safety concerns related to emergency response and traffic management in the greater Waco area anticipated during the Eclipse activities.  
 

To prepare our students for this exciting event, we have eclipse glasses for every student which will be distributed by April 5 for viewing at home. Our teachers will have lessons on the eclipse before the event, and we will send home guidelines for safe eclipse-watching.
 

Special thanks to the Mayborn Museum for providing extra teacher training on the eclipse and supplying the glasses!
 

To learn more about the eclipse as a family, we encourage you to attend the FREE STEAMclipse Festival from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, April 6, at the Waco Convention Center. Rapoport Elementary will have a table there, and we’d love to see our students stop by!
 

We expect to see EVERY RAVEN back on Tuesday, April 9, when classes resume.
