Congratulations to our Pre-K - 1st Grade Elementary Teacher of the Year: Shannon Morriss

Mrs. Morriss is a 1st Grade Teacher at our Pre-K-1st Grade Elementary. This is her 5th year at Rapoport Academy.

What others say about Mrs. Morriss:

💚  What stands out most about Mrs. Morriss is the culture she’s built in her classroom. It’s incredibly respectful and calm, which I think comes down to how she treats every student who walks through her door. She is creative and professional, but more importantly, she is steady. She has this patient way of meeting students at their own level, and it creates an environment where they clearly feel safe to be themselves.

🖤  I love running into Mrs. Morris during my day she always has a contagious joy. She goes above and beyond to reach all her students. Her class is always one of the best-behaved classes on our campus.

💚 Ms. Morriss is an outstanding example of our school’s hard work core value and is truly deserving of Teacher of the Year. She consistently goes above and beyond to internalize and adapt her lessons to meet the diverse needs of all her students. Her dedication is evident in the countless extra hours she puts in to ensure every child has what they need to succeed.

🖤  I believe Shannon is responsible in that she consistently holds her students to high standards. She emphasizes the core values to her students on a daily basis. In her interactions with students that I've witnessed, she is each student's biggest cheerleader, celebrating wins, but also helping them figure out how they can improve when needed.

💚  Mrs. Morris' consistency with her students helps make sure every student succeeds.
