Principal’s Message

Parents/Guardians,
We had a great first day yesterday!  You can find pictures from the first day in the link HERE.  These messages from me will come out each Friday of the school year so please be looking for them and please read all the information below as it will have updates, links, information, events, flyers, etc.  It is going to be a great year and we are so excited that your child is at Rapoport Academy!

Procedures in Classrooms
The teachers have been reviewing procedures in the classrooms yesterday and today.  They will continue to review these things next week and as the year goes by.  One way you can help us reinforce this is to ask your child about some of the procedures in the classroom.  Have them tell you about where they put their backpacks, how they line up, how they go in and out to recess, etc.  This is a great way to learn about the classrooms but to also help them remember the procedures.

Reminders
Tennis Shoes Every Day
Please remember to send your child in tennis shoes every day.  This allows them to play safely every day outside during recess and PE.  Please do not send your child in flip flops, Crocs, boots, slip-ons, etc.  Tennis shoes only!
Water bottle - Send one every day
Please send your child with a water bottle every day.  They can refill it in the school and then have water available to them in the classrooms and outside.

Carpool Tags - Required on your dashboard every day
We gave our carpool tags at Meet the Teacher.  If you did not come, we will try and catch parents during morning carpool tomorrow to pass them out.  Please ensure that they are on your dash every day for the entire school year.  If you walk up to pick up your child, they need to be in your hand.  If you ever need another one, please come to the front office and request one.  They are required every day!

Change of Clothes - Pre-k/Kinder students
Please send a change of clothes in your child's backpack for pre-k and kinder students. That is important in case there is an accident or a change of clothes are needed for any reason.

Closed Campus from August 8-22
Every year, we close campus for the first 2 weeks of school (after day 1) so that students can get into the routine and learn the campus and the teachers. Starting on Monday, August 25, parents are welcome to come to campus for meals. Thank you for helping us ensure a smooth transition to campus these 2 weeks.

August 8-22 - No parents on campus
August 25 - First day for parents to come onto campus for meals
August 26 - Elementary Parent Pop Ins (Flewellen - 9-10 am; MacArthur - 5:30-6:30 pm)
Sept 1 - NO SCHOOL - Labor Day
Sept 4, 5:30 pm - Pre-K Open House
