She's always eager and available to answer any questions even if they're silly. Thus far this year she has met and exceeded our expectations. Needless to say, our student just adores her because she helps to make him comfortable in his own skin. If we could take her to kindergarten with us, we would!”

𝗖𝗵𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝗡𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻, 𝗛𝗶𝗴𝗵 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗵 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿
Nominated by: Gabriel Ramirez, Veronica Rounke, Zarin Fields, Caedmon Kelley, and Roy Carney

Gabriel Ramirez: “He is funny and makes everyone smile when he’s there”

Veronica Rounke: “Mr Nason cares so deeply about his students. He sees them as individuals and works hard to make sure that all of his students understand the material being taught. He goes out of his way and spends extra time writing his own tests and projects to catch students’ attention. These tests and projects not only help students learn the material but also assist in engaging students to make them want to learn. In my experience, teachers that do not care for their students individually and engage them, do not get results. Mr Nason cares about each of his students as people. When I am going through something hard, I know that I can trust Nason to listen and encourage me. He pushes people to work hard and become better students and better people. Inspiring students to present the best work that they can, is something that sets Nason apart. He encourages students to use art, music, and words to express themselves in a way that honors themselves and others. He looks for ways to serve his students and colleagues and I will always admire that.”

Zarin Fields: “Mr. Nason, when I say that name, so many things come to mind. However, one of his best qualities is his support of the students he teaches. Mr. Nason is our biggest cheerleader! He is one of the most genuine people I know, he really cares, and what I love is that he’s always noticing the underdogs!”

Caedmon Kelley: “Mr. Nason shows excellence through his meaningful support of students all the time. He provides an incredible education in the classroom and helps his students in any meaningful way he can outside of it, whether that be talking a hard thing through with the student or giving him personal feedback. He exemplifies the idea of “Every Raven, Every Day” by always coming to school and giving his all to us, no matter what he is going through personally, and helping us all strive to do the same.”

Roy Carney: “Coming into high school, it's extremely important to know you have a teacher who cares about you. Mr. Nason ensures every student feels that way. The high school environment is extremely intimidating as a freshman, but Mr. Nason creates a support system for students from day one. He remembers every little thing students confide in him, making sure to ask them about it even days after they've talked. Every day, he greets students with a smile and checks up on students frequently. What's more, he makes this effort with every student he teaches. I think part of the reason he does this is because he has an incredible ability to see potential in every student and draw it out of them. He truly exemplifies what staff and students should strive to be at Rapoport Academy: Someone who sees the best in everyone and makes an effort to show them their potential. Mr. Nason's unwavering dedication to creating a nurturing, supportive, and inspiring high school environment makes him an invaluable asset to Rapoport Academy, and a perfect candidate for this award.”
