Elementary STEAM Teachers Surprised with Technology Grant Award

The Education Service Center Region 12 Technology Foundation recently surprised teachers and students at Rapoport Academy Elementary 2nd-4th grade campus with some exciting news! The foundation committee stopped by during a school assembly on the morning of Tuesday, March 29, to present a grant check to STEM teacher Julie Caspers and Art/Technology Teacher Shauna Reddick.

The grant project called “Next Gen STEAM Tech Masters” was chosen from more than 40 submissions from around the region. With the grant, Rapoport Academy will receive $8,809 to provide interactive technology in math and science classrooms to empower students for future career opportunities through access to technology apps, virtual and augmented reality, and hands-on projects in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math or STEAM for short.

“I’m so thankful for this opportunity to get the updated technology we need for students to engage with more hands-on projects in math and science,” Caspers said. “We’re helping them prepare for their future careers in high-tech industry and this grant will help us take our program to the next level.”

Congratulations, Mrs. Caspers and Mrs. Reddick!
