Mrs. McKamie Place (Coach Mac), is Rapoport Academy’s Head Girls Basketball Coach.

Mrs. Place completed her undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at Southwestern University while playing Division III Basketball. Her dream of coaching basketball led her to obtain her Master’s degree in Kinesiology Sport & Human Performance. She coached basketball at the collegiate level for seven years, where she was also an academic advisor, strength & conditioning coach, and Kinesiology instructor. Coaching and teaching have always been a huge part of her life and she loves mentoring young people to be the best version of themselves on and off the court. Her love and dedication to coaching have led her all over the U.S., even though she is a Gatesville, Texas native.

Prior to Rapoport, Coach Mac supervised a large group of rehab aides at Atrium Health Floyd Physical Therapy & Rehab in Rome, Georgia. She took a break from coaching to take a supervisor role while also working as an Exercise Specialist to help others recover and get back to their healthy lifestyles.

Mrs. Place is beyond thrilled to start teaching in Waco and to meet new students, so she can begin positively influencing youth to prepare them for a successful future. Coach Mac is married to Lauren Place, and they have one child, Bristol, who is seven years old, along with two golden retrievers – Kino & Kaya. Some of Coach Mac’s favorite things to do are swimming, shooting hoops, taking family walks, and going out for ice cream.
