The board held a productive meeting and strategic planning session on Tuesday, August 19, focused on key district priorities, including accountability and the effective district framework.

Celebrations & Recognitions:
  • Years of service and TIA recognitions for staff.
  • Recent reunification training for all staff.
  • News story highlighting our amazing kitchen program.
  • National awards for two FBLA students.
  • Announcement of the upcoming Raven Court ribbon-cutting and the first home volleyball game.
  • Announcement of the annual Rock the Block celebration.
Approvals:
  • Consent agenda items, including financials, charter first results, and enrollment reports.
  • District suicide assessment procedures.
  • Expenses for cybersecurity, grant funding for curriculum, AC repairs, and a special education stipend.
  • A new teacher-only salary schedule that reflects the Teacher Retention Allotment (TRA) allocation.
Reports & Discussions:
  • Staff representative shared feedback on topics like the application of the TRA for SpEd and Dyslexia teachers, potential after-school support for staff, and the status of the four-day week.
  • Board President Neumann provided updates and clarifications on staff feedback, noting that the four-day week is not viable for the district at this time.
  • Committee reports were received from the finance and facilities committees.
  • Board President Neumann presented an overview of the most recent Foundation School Program (FSP) reports.
  • Accountability scores published by the state were reviewed, with a discussion of campus and domain trends.
  • Updates on the gym were provided, including the ongoing history wall, cashless operations, and a new process for outside contracts.

Board Highlight: Yenerey Olivera, Parent Representative

We'd like to extend a warm welcome to our newest Parent Representative, Yenerey Olivera! Originally from Uruguay, Yenerey is a longtime Rapoport parent and proud "soccer mom" who is passionate about helping ensure every family's voice is heard. A dedicated community member, she also manages two small businesses and is currently pursuing a degree in accounting.
