Middle School Announcements

 

1)  BPS for the week of 11/30 – 12/6. Parents/guardians sign and students return on Monday.

 

2)  UIL competitions – qualifying  5th/6th students will travel to Bremond on Thursday, Dec 13 to compete. We have sent home field trip forms and information for those who are attending. Please return the form and contact Mrs. Garton or Miss Kissick if you have questions.

 

3) History Fair and Winter Concert!!!! Thursday, Dec. 13. Come and see the students’ History Fair projects from 6-7pm (come and go), and then join us for the Winter Concert at the Multi-Purpose building at 7pm!!!! (You WILL be able to attend BOTH the history fair AND the concert!)

 

4) Parent/Teacher Conferences – Friday, January 11. Please sign up now! Contact Mrs. Williams  to set a time. 754-8000.

 

5) DETENTION – There will be NO Thursday after school detention next week. We WILL still have detention on Wednesday from 3:35 – 4:30.

 

6)  PARENTS:  Please be sure to make arrangements for your students to be supervised after school. Students MUST be in a program such as the YMCA or MUST go to the library by 4p.m.(They may still stay until 4:30 on Wednesday and Thursday if they are doing detention.)  With the time change it is getting dark earlier, our campus is an open campus to the public, the weather is changing, and we cannot guarantee the safety or well being of your child after this time.

Meyer High News

 

Congrats to the Raven Volleyball teams for placing 4th at the Clifton Tournament this last weekend! The Volleyball team will be back in action this Thursday at Vanguard at 7:00PM. Come out and support!

A+ Cards Fundraiser Kickoff – Monday August 19th
This fundraiser benefits the class funds. As well as additional prizes which are awarded from A+. Students are not required to sell, but have a great opportunity to help with future events or plans the classes may have in the future.

Picture Day – August 29th
Order forms for school pictures will be sent home today (8/19) with your student.


Meet the Teacher Night – Thursday, September 5th (Time TBA)
All parents, guardians, and students are invited to come out to meet our high school staff!

Dance team auditions will be held on Tuesday, August 20th at 4:00pm until 5:00pm in the dance studio of the YMCA (on the second floor). This is a closed audition to be a part of the 2013-2014 Raven Dance Team!

BPS Reporting: BPS reports will not be sent home this week (8/20).
Students/parents/guardians will receive a letter of notice for continued being off BPS this week. These letters will be for students who stepped off the BPS monitoring system during the last school year and will continue off the monitoring system to start this year.  All not notified by letter of an OFF status for BPS, are considered ON BPS monitoring to start the 2013-2014 school year.

Picture Day is Thursday, August 29.  Order forms will be sent home with your student this week.

TSTC Classes begin Monday, August 26.

Senior Parents: Herff Jones will be on campus to deliver class rings on Wednesday, August 21 during lunch.

Donations for fruit - We like to offer fresh fruit once a day (besides lunch time) to our students and we need contributions to do that.  If you are able to contribute $15.00, $20.00 or $30.00 dollars towards the fruit purchase, you may bring/send your contribution to the high school office.

Student Club Interest Meetings this week:
- Dance Club this Tuesday at 3:00pm at Doris Miller YMCA.

- Soccer Club interest meeting this Wednesday 3:00pm.

- FCA interest meeting this Thursday @ 7:30am in Mr. Castro’s room. All are welcome to attend.
- Key Club interest meeting this Friday @ 3:00pm.

A message from the Coaches,

Dear Parents,

The athletic coaching staff will be hosting a meeting for all parents, Middle School and High School student athletes who are participating in sports at Rapoport Academy for the 2013-2014 school year.  The meeting will be held on Tuesday,August 20th at the DCAC at 6:00pm.

This will be an information meeting about the various sports, UIL paper work and schedules of all sports girls and boys, also the introductions of new coaching staff. The sports we offer are: Girls Volleyball, Girls and Boys Cross Country, Girls and Boys Basketball, Girls and Boys Track.

This will be great way to meet new parents and have discussions about the upcoming school year.

The meeting should last about an hour.
